10 Reasons Star Wars Fans NEED To Watch Rebels
7. The Fall Of Maul
Another Clone Wars character who returns in Rebels is Maul, like Ahsoka he makes a very surprising return. Maul is doing what he does best, seeking revenge and growing his own power.
Maul has grown beyond his one-off villain from the Phantom Menace, being brought back from the dead, to becoming one of the deepest characters in the canon. In Rebels, Maul seeks to corrupt Ezra, to become his new master. Maul's presence in the series really moves the series, having a great impact upon the two Jedi of the Ghost crew.
Maul's story, similar to Ahsoka, is really fulfilling. To go in depth at how it pans out would spoil the experience for you, but it is truly worth it. Whilst we don't exactly know how he made it to Rebels, with gaps still to be filled between and after his Solo cameo, this is a great chapter for Maul.
Like many characters in the Star Wars galaxy, Maul's story is one of tragedy. Somebody who was manipulated for anothers gain and in the end was cast aside. His story in Rebels displays this tragedy.
