10 Reasons To Revisit The Colin Baker Era Of Doctor Who
9. The Return Of Iconic Villains
One of the many strengths of Colin's short-but-sweet run is that his era is packed with iconic villains and monsters. Baker's second story sees the return of the Cybermen in a gloriously violent serial, bringing back the adopted Cyberman homeworld of Telos.
A few stories later, the Daleks return in Revelation of the Daleks, with a mysterious leader known as the Great Healer saving the ailing planet Necros. The Great Healer turns out to be Dalek creator Davros, who is converting dead bodies into Daleks for his new Dalek army.
As well as two of the show's most iconic villains returning for incredibly strong stories in his tenure, the Master also returns twice in Colin's run. In true classic Who fashion, the Master tries to hijack the industrial revolution of the 19th century, before assisting in a plot to have the Doctor executed on Gallifrey in Baker's second season.
All outings with the Daleks, Cybermen, and the Master help add a sense of familiarity and continuity to the more offbeat elements of Colin's character throughout his era.
