10 Reasons Why Arrow Needs To Kill Off Oliver Queen
7. The Emotion Of The Past Season Would Be Lost
Not just this season, but the final few episodes of last season were dripping in genuine heartbreak over what was coming with Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Arrow has most certainly had its ups and downs over its run to date, yet the past season or two has seen the series get back on track. And key to that has been the Oliver Queen character and his transformation from ranting figurehead to reflective, appreciative mentor who knows his number's up.
The first two seasons of Arrow were overflowing with goosebumps-inducing moments - the second season standing out as a true highlight of modern genre television - yet the series has often struggled to hit those emotional highs. In its most recent season, however, Arrow has had fans getting teary-eyed with the heartfelt moments we've seen play out on screen.
Whether it was Felicity's reaction to The Monitor's arrival to take Oliver to his inevitable death, Ollie's farewell conversation with sister Thea, or just the overall solemness of fate that looms large over Star City, it would be criminal of Arrow to tarnish all of the emotion that the show has managed to drum up recently.
