10 Reasons Why Doctor Who Fans Should Give Martha Jones A Break

1. Unrequited Love

This list has proven that Martha Jones is brave, devoted and loyal (for those of you who had any previous doubt) and here's the main reason - should you still need one - as to why you should really just give her the benefit of the doubt. Everything she did, in Series 3 at least, was done through her love for the Doctor which remained one sided until the bitter end. It must've been difficult for her to go about her business whilst harbouring these secret unrequited feelings and it was truly admirable that she ultimately decided to remove herself from the situation to prevent further heartache. She realised that she'd never be able to move on until she decided that enough was enough and since then she's remained as faithful as she ever was, returning to support the Doctor on several occasions and even hopping over to Torchwood to aid in their spin off shenanigans. Just another day in the office... In short, Martha is a formidable force within the Doctor Who mythology and she's a companion that's left a lasting legacy on the show and its titular Time Lord. Unlike some companions, she'll be remembered for all the right reasons. At least she's happy now, too. As of The End of Time she's left the constraints of military organisations behind her to fight the good fight as a freelance Earth defender alongside her new beau, Mickey Smith. Turns out she got something Rose Tyler didn't in the end. What a gal. Tumblr Inline Nch1ey2qhs1rhgb1x GifWhat do you think of this list?
