10 Reasons Why Doctor Who Fans Should Give Martha Jones A Break
6. Bogged Down
Martha had only been back in the Tenth Doctor's life for a short while in Series 4 but it all proved to be too much for her in The Doctor's Daughter when she preceded to break down, of all places, in a bog. It has to be noted that far worse things had happened to her than the death of the Hath and, although that was what seemingly triggered this emotional - and not to mention dramatic - eruption, it was generally the culmination of all of her supressed emotions that she had been building up throughout the course of her adventures to date. It happens to the best of us, right? Many people failed to understand the significance of Martha's outburst and maybe if they understood where it came from, they'd find it easier to give the poor girl a break. After all, can you really blame her for deciding that enough was enough? She'd already been through a hell of lot by this point and the untimely passing of her new fish-like friend was a cruel reminder of just how harsh life as a time traveller can be. Sacrifices must always be made and it's always the good that seem to go first. For Martha Jones, this was - at least it should have been - the final straw. There's another reason she deserves more recognition than she gets. She's a fighter until the bitter end.
