10 Reasons Why Glee Is Failing

1. Sense Of Self Awareness

052312_glee_season_finale_featured120523145428.000 The writers seem very aware of what the fans either pine for or complain about, but yet do nothing about it. In the opening monologue of €˜Props€™, the writers are demonstrating their awareness that Tina plays a supportive role, swaying in the background like a prop. Clever. But at the same time, it€™s quite clear that they€™re going to do nothing about it. Sure, we have an episode supposedly dedicated Tina and she€™s got a solo, but by the next episode she€™s back to quick throwaway lines and floundering all over Mike Chang and his abs. And then there€™s Blaine. Initially introduced as the lead singer of a rival glee club, he was promoted to series regular because he was popular with not only the fans, but the iTunes chart as well. But now people are complaining of overexposure and the writers are doing nothing about it. He takes the lead in almost every New Directions song. And another thing, why is Blaine going up to Sue and trying to convince her to return to the cheerios? Surely it should have been Brittany or Becky, someone who actually wants to be part of the cheerios. It doesn€™t make any sense. The show often likes to point out it€™s absurdities for the sake of a quick quip, like Will€™s only friends being his students. I mean seriously, that€™s just sad.
