Speaking of the flash-forwards, the ones we are treated to make for some of the best scenes of the season.
Ted proposing at the lighthouse, one year on from the wedding, and the New Year's Eve party are all upbeat moments that celebrate his life with The Mother, while their first date and the anniversary dinner in 2024 are some of the most emotional moments of the entire show.
While we don't neccessarily get an in-depth look at the pair's relationship in full, we are taken on a journey with them through their big moments, with a glimpse at the highlights of their life together.
Of course, the other characters get their moment to shine too - Lily and Marshall in Rome is heart-warming to watch with the introduction of Daisy, and Barney becoming a father is a great culmination of his personal arc in learning to love unconditionally.
