Daredevil: 10 Reasons Wilson Fisk Is The Best MCU Villain
2. Vincent D'Onofrio
Describing Fisk as larger than life is more than just a reference to his physical proportions, and writing a character with more dimensions than the convergence is no mean feat. Having the presence to fill these shoes and bring such a character to life is an equally daunting challenge, but one which Vincent D'Onofrio has risen to spectacularly.
From grand gestures to subtle ticks, Fisk is brought to life in the details which all add up to more than the sum of their parts. As the central antagonist it is expected that he would have a heavy presence throughout the series, and yet it is easy to forget he appeared in only nine full episodes. Less than three quarters of a season, but when recalling iconic moments of the series it is an image of Fisk which immediately springs to mind.
It also has to be said that whilst other well known actors have given highly talented performances to the MCU, they have also been highly identifiable; even under all his make up as Malekith it was impossible for Christopher Eccleston to go unrecognised. This makes sense for a blockbuster, in that you want big name stars to be recognisable on screen, but despite starring in Full Metal Jacket and a 10 year stint on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, D'Onofrio is nothing short of chameleonic in his role as Fisk.
