Backstabbing and scheming are an everyday event and anger floods Paddys Pub like a plague of locusts. They treat each other worse than most people would treat an enemy - sleeping with each others mothers in the name of revenge, selfishly ignoring Dee while she has a heart attack or telling the local pitch-fork wielding, vigilante parents that Dennis is a paedophile. The gang might not be the best people to judge yourself against, but you can always be safe in the knowledge that surely nothing you do could match the degeneracy of the gang.
