10 Revived TV Shows That Should've Stayed Cancelled
6. Community
Six seasons and a movie almost came to pass (and still could if Dan Harmon’s sitcom ever makes the jump to the big screen), but it probably shouldn’t have. The pop culture-savvy sitcom was cult dynamite from the off, with deep allusions to film and TV offset by heartfelt character arcs, brilliant performances, and a focus on tightly structured, wonderfully plotted episodes.
Community was ditched by NBC after season five, then swiftly grabbed up by Yahoo for a final run. It was dragging itself along by this point. Half the original cast had gone, the well had run dry, Dan Harmon had quite clearly lost his interest. The whole tone was off, and the episodes, given the freedom of online streaming, ballooned past the tight network TV runtime. This freedom helped precisely none; the previously sharp scripts were now flabby, and often downright weird.
The show was on its last legs before the switch, but the final series is particularly unbecoming of the once-great show.
