10 Rick And Morty Episodes Probably Made Out Of Spite

1. Rick Potion - S1 E6

Rick and Morty Rick Potion #9
Adult Swim

Although it may not be confirmed, this episode could be a stab at girlfriends of the past for writer Justin Roiland and director Stephen Sandoval. Rick reluctantly creates a love potion for Morty at his request, and things soon turn sour. Instead of just working on high school crush Jessica, the brew mutates and infects everyone, causing a worldwide swooning over the un-swoon-worthy Morty. The swooning is stage one of the infection, and very soon it starts to turn everyone into preying mantises.

As Rick and Morty attempt to find a cure, the world slowly becomes a Cronenberg fiasco, with humans turning into massive bug-like creatures. As per usual, the duo manage to save themselves from their own stupidity and finish the day in the garage, slightly drunk and majorly traumatised. This, of course, comes at the cost of their world as they ultimately decide to flee the ruined Earth and swap it for an alternative reality.

This episode doesn’t feel as spiteful as some of the others but definitely feels a bit spiteful for high schoolers as well as planet Earth.
