10 Scariest Sci-Fi TV Shows Of All Time

5. Twilight Zone

The Twilight Zone is easily one of the most venerable science fiction franchises in the genre. Originally hitting the airwaves in 1959, Rod Serling's creepy creation never shied away from telling stories that ranged from unsettling to outright frightening. That's probably why new generations of fans continue to obsess over it.

Comedian turned horror icon Jordan Peele is certainly a fan. In 2016, he started developing the fourth iteration of the classic series, becoming the new host and narrator when it debuted in 2018. Two seasons in and the new version of The Twilight Zone has maintained the absurdity of the original.

Several classic episodes stick out, and not just because William Shatner was worried about something on the wing of his plane. That being said, "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" remains a highly satirized but highly respected episode. The fact that no one believed Shatner when he tried to warn them about the danger lurking outside was frightening to say the least.
