10 Scariest Sci-Fi TV Shows Of All Time

4. Fringe

Fringe show
Fox

Similar to The X-Files, Fringe was about an FBI sponsored group researching what was described as fringe science. This could be quite literally everything and anything. And over the course of all one hundred episodes of the series, the "anything and everything" aspect of the series grew increasingly prominent.

But the main narrative of Fringe revolved around alternate realities and timelines, setting up an ongoing story that was both engaging and perplexing. But it was perplexing in a good way, one that challenged viewers to expand what they expected from the stories they enjoyed.

There were more than a few truly frightening episodes, the worst of which may have been "Marionette." A grief-stricken scientist named Raymond decided to resurrect his dead wife by retrieving her donated organs and stitching her back together. It's something you could actually see a deranged individual doing.
