10 Scariest Supernatural Episodes Ever Made
2. Family Remains (Season 4, Episode 11)
Often times it's said that human beings are the scariest monster of them all. 'Family Remains' agrees with that statement to a terrifying degree.
To distract himself from thinking about his time in Hell, Dean has been dragging Sammy along on one case after another. This eventually leads them to a supposedly empty haunted house where things are not at all what they seem.
A paranormal haunting is a more comforting thought than what's going on here. Instead of ghosts, the house has two squatters in the form of a duo of feral incest siblings. These two terrifying twins disable any means of escape, cut off the power, and steal the boys' weapons stash. This was clearly not their first rodeo.
The thing that makes this episode so unsettling is its two creepy surprises. Surprise number one is the first feral incest child, while surprise number two is her equally sickening brother. That's two too many feral incest children.
It'd be a mistake not to mention the night vision sequence as well, which really only seems to exist to make things feel even more nerve-wracking. Mission accomplished.
