Our first port of call on this trip through the scariest of the Twilight Zone is to an ordinary bus station where a woman (Psycho's Vera Miles) waits for a late coach. This ordinary event takes a turn for the extraordinary when she is repeatedly haunted by visions of her own doppelgänger. Is she just hallucinating? But if so, why are people saying they've seen her doing things she hasn't? With talk of parallel worlds and featuring creepy doppelgängers, this episode is of note anyway for including an intriguing mix of the show's two genres but, most importantly, it is also an atmospheric spooky story which makes expert use of its claustrophobic setting. The whole thing serves as a reminder that you don't have to go watch the latest horror film to get your scares, a cheaply-made half-hour drama from fifty years ago will do the job just fine. Leave it to your doppelgänger to go watch the movie...
