A long drive across country becomes an unending hell for a young woman when she repeatedly - impossibly - sees the same Hitch-hiker in every state. Who, or what, is this man and why is he after her? The whole episode is a tour de force of terror, perfectly capturing how lonely a long drive can be, but the Hitch-hiker himself is at the core of the scares, as he makes for a very chilling spectre. He might look innocuous the first time - faintly smiling with is thumb in the air - but after he appears at every juncture that smile grows unsettling and he transforms into a figure from your nightmares.
