10 Scariest X-Files Episodes Of All Time
1. Tooms/Squeeze - Season 1, Episodes 3 & 21
The X-Files didn't waste any time getting creepy, introducing Eugene Victor Tooms (the creepiest villain in the show's history) in only the third episode - the first of the series' 'monster-of-the-week' episodes.
Tooms had a special talent, in that he could squeeze himself through the smallest gap, infiltrating people's homes. And why did he want to squeeze into people's homes? To harvest their livers. Tooms was a genetic mutant who wakes up every thirty years to feed. That's a creepy enough concept, but the Tooms character was made truly scary because of the performance of Doug Hutchison.
He was so outstanding and effective in the role that they brought him back later in the series, where he knocked it out of the park once more. Squeeze was the show's first foray into horror and the episode that really sold the show to the masses.
