10 Sci-Fi TV Series That Deserve A Second Chance

4. Sense8

Fringe TV Show
Netflix

Sense8 was series that ran on Netflix for two seasons and movie length finale. Created by a combination of The Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski, the show elicited a huge range of responses, from overwhelmingly positive to unnecessarily, almost offensively, negative.

The essential premise is that people with special abilities realize they are connected and attempt to survive while an organization tries to hunt them down. At a base level, it's been done many times before but there are certainly details that set it apart from other similar stories.

It was highly praised for it's diversity, including a multi-cultural cast and strong LGBTQ characters and themes. But the quality of the story honestly wasn't there. It was a mediocre show that had the potential to be great but never quite found a way to be great, which is probably why Netflix cancelled it after only two seasons.

All of that being said, there were a lot of great ideas in Sense8, even if they didn't come to fruition. It could still be an amazing show, and new episodes would give it the chance to make that happen.
