10 Sci-Fi TV Series That Deserve A Second Chance
3. FlashForward
Loosely based on the Robert J. Sawyer book of the same name, this spiritual successor to Lost deserved more than one season.
On October 6th, 2009, everyone on Earth forced unconscious for two minutes and 17 seconds. As part of the collective blackout experience, everyone had a vision of themselves and what they are doing exactly six months in the future. When people woke up, they were confused and burdened by their unexpected knowledge as well as being confronted by the chaos caused by the blackout.
More than few planes fell from the sky, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
What made the show interesting was the two-fold investigations that were happening. On an individual level, people had to sort out what to do with their information about their futures. Frequently, the out of context visions raised more questions than they answered. But the investigation into what and who caused the collective blackouts and flashforwards was the main story.
FlashForward ran for only one season on ABC, and unfortunately ended with another flashforward event happening. Again, more questions than answers. While the series never caught on like Lost did, it could still give fans some excellent new episodes and pick up where it left off.
