10 Secret Subplots You Learn From Watching Parks & Recreation Deleted Scenes

5. Perd Hapley's Insane Commute

Parks and Recreation Shawna Paul Rudd
NBC

Another moment both hilarious and revealing was cut from the show's series finale, when Turd Crapley - sorry, Perd Hapley (Jay Jackson) - is invited to become the new Mayor of Pawnee.

However, Perd is forced to refuse the honour because, believe it or not, he isn't in fact a Pawnee resident and doesn't even live in the state, residing instead in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Perd then adds in his amusingly dry newscaster tenor, "The story of my commute is...it's long."

To be clear, this puts Perd's home hundreds of miles away from Pawnee in the absolute least, ensuring he's literally travelling hours and hours every day to his job when we see him.
