To many comic book fans, one of the most iconic panels of modern-day comics is the sight of Batman punching the sh*t out of Superman with a kryptonite ring.

That visual came in Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee's seminal, all-encompassing Hush story, although we have also seen several other times where the World's Greatest Detective has had to rely on said kryptonite ring to topple the Boy Scout.

What you maybe don't know, is that this ring is yet another one of the delights housed in the Batcave. How did the ring come to be, you ask? Why, that'd be down to villainous Lex Luthor.

Luthor being Luthor, he carved a ring out of kryptonite as part of his plans to take down Superman. Also Luthor being Luthor, this plan was ultimately thwarted. To his credit, it was actually the Man of Steel himself who agreed for this kryptonite ring to go to Batman - with Supes trusting Bruce to use the ring if the occasion ever called for it.

In more recent times, it's actually been revealed that not just is the Batcave the home to this kryptonite ring, but the Batcave actually has a whole container full of various types of kryptonite.
