10 Simple Fixes That Would Save The Walking Dead

10. Hold A Mirror To Society

One thing the Walking Dead hasn€™t done so far that other zombie stories have tried to do is hold a mirror to society as it is now. Instead it concentrates on how previously cosseted humans react in a survival setting. Audience you are often challenged to think how you would react in a given situation. Could you put a bullet in the head of a loved one if they had turned? Could you leave a friend to be taken if it meant you could survive? How far would you go in order to stay alive? Stealing? Beating? Murder? Survival horror is all well and good, but the whole idea of zombies came from unthinking humans and their obsessions with consumerism - it would be good to spend at least a little while being more introspective. Maybe the writers could take the opportunity to give the characters a wash and a change of clothes, using a shopping trip as a challenge to our modern day consumerism. The question of what makes us human and what keeps us above the level of savages is an interesting one. Investigating that in the context of the show could give it a new angle.

I.T. Consultant, technophile and Doctor Who fan. I like to talk about tech, take films apart and make excuses for Doctor Who's continuity errors. No other show has the power to make me feel like a big kid.
