10 Simple Fixes That Would Save The Walking Dead

9. Let Go Of The Comics

There have been many changes from the Robert Kirkman stories, with characters being handed different roles and various stories invented that are completely alien to the books. Some have died that shouldn€™t have, others are still alive who shouldn€™t be - some events have even been moved around the timeline. But as with any TV adaptation of a well-loved book or comic, it shouldn€™t be afraid to take its own direction. In shedding the need to hold to the plot points of the source material, writers are free to think more broadly and audiences can be surprised with unexpected twists. This is not to say that the show should risk 'jumping the shark', but being able to introduce completely different ideas is important if the show is to continue long term. Certainly some of the upcoming stories in terms of the graphic novels are less than appealing for a TV setting and would risk the show getting bogged down again.

I.T. Consultant, technophile and Doctor Who fan. I like to talk about tech, take films apart and make excuses for Doctor Who's continuity errors. No other show has the power to make me feel like a big kid.
