10 Simpsons Characters Who Are Completely Underused
5. Superintendent Chalmers
When it comes to the school (Springfield Elementary of course), the focus is ever so often on Seymour Skinner, a.k.a. Principal Skinner, a.k.a. Armin Tam... woops, never mind that last one. We've had enough Skinner. It's time for him to go back to being a minor player, what with Edna gone, and have Chalmers, who has done relatively little in all his years on the show, come to the forefront. Why not an episode where he has to fill in for Skinner? Or something that takes him out of the school setting entirely? To date, there has been exactly one Chalmers episode, and that was season 23's ""Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts" - a fairly solid episode that had an opening couch gag from Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi.
