Any comic book fan worth their salt knows that every important superhero city is actually just a reimagined version of New York City. Whether it’s Batman’s dark and grimy Gotham, or Superman’s majestic Metropolis, they are all alternate versions of the famed Big Apple.

With that in mind, it would be safe to assume that the Umbrella Academy, the physical bricks and mortar, also find their foundation in NYC. This assumption would be wrong however, as we find out the base of operations is actually 719 miles away in Indiana.

This all comes to light during Season 2, when Luther decides to confront his future father at his home to explain the teams time-travel fiasco in the hope that he will help them correct the timeline.

Hopping on a bus from Dallas, which is where Luther and his siblings have spent much of the series, we see the course of his journey outlined on a map, ending in a little known section of Indiana known as Terre Haute. When Number 1 jumps off the bus he instantly declares himself as being “Home”, indicating that this is the actual location of Umbrella Academy HQ.
