If you've never read any of The Umbrella Academy comics, then you'd be forgiven for thinking that Diego's only real power is that he can throw knives with frightening accuracy. But this isn't true. In the original source material, Number 2 also goes by the name 'Kraken', which stems from his ability to hold his breath for inhuman lengths of time. This usually helps when he's under water, hence the codename.

Fans of the comics have complained that Diego's Kraken ability is never utilised on screen, and at face value they would be right to feel that way. But, we could argue otherwise, because we believe that Diego's forgotten super power does make an appearance, albeit in a rather unorthodox situation.

During the episode "A Light Supper", the team assemble in a lift en route to meeting their father for supper. Nervous, Luther lets out a silent but deadly fart that has all of his brothers and sisters reeling from the stench. The only one who isn't disgusted is Diego, because presumably, he has managed to hold his breath thus blocking out the SBD. That's Kraken at work ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not.
