Sure, she ended up getting her crew lost an impossible distance from home, but you can't judge anyone on one little mistake... Not that she was really to blame.

Of all of the captains in Star Trek - including Sisko - Janeway was the most dependable, level-headed and probably the one you should trust the most. Particularly as the majority of her tenure on Voyager saw her leading in unthinkable situations where danger and safety were hard to distinguish and where the possible ramifications of almost every decision was therefore amplified to catastrophic levels.

And yet, Janeway remained stable and offered the incredible judgement and insight that eventually saw her promoted to Admiral. And rightly so.

Janeway's IQ isn't to be questioned, even if it limited her personality by removing some of the flaws that defined her predecessors and made them charming. She was a formidable figure and unquestionably the smartest human character across all of the shows.
