10 Star Wars Expanded Universe Characters Who Deserve A Second Chance On Disney+

1. Mara Jade

If there was ever one name that many fans of the Expanded Universe wanted to see included in the modern continuity, it would be Mara Jade. The importance of the role she played in Star Wars throughout the books and comic books cannot be underestimated, much the like the potential for her in the current stories.

Mara was Force-sensitive, though not raised to be either a Sith or a Jedi. Initially, she was trained to be the Emperor's personal assassin, and was sent out on very specific missions. Palpatine's last command upon his death was to kill Luke Skywalker. Mara failed at this task, eventually marrying Luke and was trained by him as a Jedi.

Given the changes made to the current continuity, it might be difficult to play things out exactly as they happened in the Expanded Universe. That being said, a version of these events could play out in new stories. Mara is too good of a character to completely abandon, and could help build a more engaging overall narrative.
