10 Star Wars Expanded Universe Characters Who Deserve A Second Chance On Disney+

6. Yuuzhan Vong

The Yuuzhan Vong were not an individual. They were a race of aliens, much different from most other races in Star Wars. One of the biggest things that set them apart was that they were one of the few races who actually originated from outside of the galaxy. The other defining characteristic was that Force users were blind to their presence.

Appearing in a variety of books and comics, the Yuuzhan Vong orchestrated a massive invasion of the galaxy which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of trillions of life forms. It was a brutal conflict that made the Clone Wars and the Rebellion look like playground slap fights.

There's a long-standing theory that the Emperor founded the Empire in part to fend off the Yuuzhan Vong, as he believed only he was powerful enough to stop them. In reality, the Empire and Palpatine's rise to power was the culmination of a millennia long Sith plan. Still, the Yuuzhan Vong are interesting villains who could find a place in the new continuity.
