10 Star Wars Expanded Universe Characters Who Deserve A Second Chance On Disney+
5. Dash Rendar
Much like Revan, Dash Rendar is technically part of the modern canon thanks to supplementary film materials. He is mentioned in Solo: A Star Wars Story: Tales from Vandor, a 2018 journal that expands on the world of smugglers and scoundrels in the Star Wars Universe. And Dash Rendar is certainly a smuggler and a scoundrel.
Dash has been referred to as essentially a clone of Han Solo, and not in the way Boba Fett is a clone of Jango Fett. In many ways, he's light version of Han Solo, almost as good as the original but not quite. Regardless, he's still an interesting and potentially vital character in that Star Wars needs more stories about people like him.
He first popped up in 1996 in a novel that was part of the Shadows of the Empire saga. He was a smuggler who brought supplies to the Rebellion on Hoth, which is where he ran into Han Solo and his role grew from there. Dash is a character with a lot of potential, especially if producers can find ways of differentiating him from Solo without losing Dash's charm.
