Twitter may have been the only thing keeping this world together recently when the Facebook blackout hit, but usually, it isn't known for being particularly helpful.

We've all used hashtags in our tweets, it's a great way to sum up your witty comments while obnoxiously attempting to get strangers to acknowledge you. But notoriety isn't always the best attention to gain, and that's a lesson the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D fans learnt the hard way.

You see, tv fans love an anti-hero, and usually, the shows are quick to appease them. But when S.H.I.E.L.D showrunners wrote the character, Grant Ward, they weren't really planning a redemption story for him.

Ward was a character that had ties with Hydra and was all-around shady, but fans looked to his abusive childhood as an inclination of his inevitable redemption. But the writers were going to cave into the fan pressure, in fact, when the hashtag "I stand with Ward" started to trend on Twitter, they only stuck to their guns with more determination.

The showrunners wrote into the show a direct reference to the Twitter debacle. Kara, a character that was in an unhealthy relationship with Ward, literally said the line "I will always stand with Ward" only to be shot and killed by him before he joins Hydra for good...

That's one way to deal with pushy fans.

Lily thought it was about time she wrote Top Ten lists for people other than herself. She also owes her dog a lot of money so she thought it was about time to pay her dues. There is no tv show she likes that she hasn't seen at least twice.
