10 Terrible CGI Moments In Big Budget TV Shows
7. Supernatural - Leviathans
Supernatural is currently in its fifteenth and final season, and its impressive tenure on our screens has seen it evolve with the visual effects on offer.
Mostly, Supernatural is a show that looks great. Relying heavily on VFX owing to its countless ghosts, ghouls and monsters, more often than not it hits the mark and achieves reasonably realistic villains, even way back in the first season (which aired in 2005).
That said, there was one story arc in particular that featured a host of biblical monsters that simply looked ridiculous.
Season 7's story revolved mostly around the Winchesters fighting against the Leviathans, ancient monsters so hungry and destructive that God himself created Purgatory to lock them away.
Inadvertently released by Sam and Dean's angel friend Castiel, the Leviathans began working to replace humans as the dominant species on the planet, proving themselves a worthy adversary for the monster-hunting brothers.
Only, they really didn't look the part. Instead, they looked more like over-grown CGI leeches that someone's brother cooked up in a school computer lab, hell the flying meatballs with teeth that are in Stephen King's The Langoliers look on par. And they sucked!
