10 Terrible CGI Moments In Big Budget TV Shows
5. The Magicians - Everything
Syfy's answer to the question: "Who wants to take an award-winning book series and turn it into one of the most forgettable fantasy shows ever made?", The Magicians began airing in 2015, and despite reviewing well, remained the best show that no one was talking about until ending earlier this year.
Following the story of Quentin Coldwater and his friends at Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy, the series contains constant uses of magic and appearances from magical creatures as an integral part of the show's world.
One of the main let-downs of The Magicians is its absolute inability to make anything unfolding on our screens seem remotely believable, owing in no small part to absolutely appalling visual effects.
The problem isn't necessarily that the effects are bad (they really are, though), but that the show continues to rely so heavily on them despite their obviously poor quality.
It isn't that we are expected to suspend our disbelief to follow a story revolving around magic hidden in the world around us, it's just that the awful CGI was flaunted so deliberately in every episode.
