10 Terrifying Secrets Hidden In Huge TV Shows

5. Ish & Danny's Story - The Last Of Us

As far as adapting the source material goes, The Last of Us kept almost religiously close to the game from which it was drawn. It even included an episode based around the game's Left Behind DLC that showed Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Riley (Storm Reid) in an abandoned shopping mall, and the details captured were more than impressive.

During episode five with Henry and Sam (Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard), there can be seen a drawing a child has done of Danny and Ish, labelling them as 'Our Protectors'. To anyone who hasn't played the game this would mean little and less, and even to some who had, just not as thoroughly as possible, but there is a horrifying story behind the picture.

In the game, though neither Danny nor Ish are ever seen, their story is told through a series of notes the player can find. It's largely a story about survival, but this one ends with the deaths of a lot of children.

Ish was able to create a safe house in the sewers away from the infected, and ultimately turned it into something of a community, with a school and everything. Ish and Danny were able to protect the community until someone left a door open. They were ransacked by a horde of infected, with only a handful living to see another day. While Ish managed to escape with Susan, her children weren't so lucky.

Audiences watched some truly horrific events play out in The Last of Us, but were spared from having to watch even more.
