4. Cows Serving Cows - BoJack Horseman

In just about any other TV series, there would be very few eyebrows raised at someone ordering and eating a steak in a restaurant. However, BoJack Horseman is not like other TV shows, in no small part thanks to the fact that half of the characters in Hollywood are animals.

Mr. Peanutbutter (Paul F. Tomkins), Princess Carolyn (Amy Sedaris), Hollyhock (Aparna Nancherla), BoJack himself (Will Arnett), and countless others are a part of the animal kingdom, which raises certain questions about meat eating.

There is a whole plot line in one episode based around chickens that are bred specifically to be food, however there is something more subtle and easier to miss that is perhaps even darker than this. One of the recurring background characters in BoJack Horseman is the cow waitress who in one episode Todd (Aaron Paul) accidentally tips eight million dollars. In other appearances, she is forced to serve a steak to one of her customers, as well as milk from her own udders.

Since there appears to be complete equality between humans and animals, with neither in particular being the dominant species, this is no different than if a human waitress were to serve a human steak to a paying customer who just so happened to be a lion. Imagine being that poor cow and having to serve her own kind for someone to eat, and think about how it's just as likely that human steaks may also have been served.
