9. Ease Up On The Oldies

The Daleks. The Cybermen. The enemies that terrified young members of the Doctor Who audience for decades. And they are heavily overused. For example, it was in the 1988 story Silver Nemesis, starring the Seventh Doctor, which the Cybermen last appeared, until they announced their metallic presence in Series 2's two parter Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel in 2006. However, from then on, the Cybermen continued throughout each year due to their modern success and popularity. This also applies to the Sontarans and Silurians, since their revamped revival has sparked some popularity with its new audience. Going by what Steven Moffat has claimed, which is to reuse characters only when necessary... well, he hasn't really stayed true to his word now, has he?
