6. He Really Isn't A Geek And Has Never Seen Star Trek
Although you should never assume an actor is anything like his/her character, and nor should you ever judge a book by its cover, it's very easy to imagine that Jim Parsons is something of a Sheldon-alike in real life - but he really isn't. If anything, it's a tribute to the man's acting that you might assume he's a bit of a Trekkie and a geek like his character, but he's actually never seen an episode of Stark Trek in his whole life and he failed science in college - citing the fact that he took it for the wrong reasons as the cause of his failure (the reason being that he took it because he wanted to be a meteorologist due to living in a hurricane zone - but he actually only liked the drama of it all, not the science). In fact, his favourite television show when he was growing up was Three's Company and he also liked Family Ties and The Cosby Show. His more recent favourites include American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Lost and Friday Night Lights. He is also an avid fan of tennis, baseball and basketball and regularly watches all three sports whenever he can.
