10 Things Doctor Who Wants You To Forget

The 1996 TV Movie is fascinating to reflect on. Had it been received better, we would've got a full series with Paul McGann as the lead, and the 2005 revival might never have happened.

It took a major swing with Doctor Who lore too, something that would've potentially become canon rather than being forgotten about entirely.

In what is now looked back on as a jokey throwaway line, the Doctor mentions that he's "half-human" on his mother's side.

Wait a second - he's what now?!

While this could've just been the Doctor fooling around, there was little reason to believe that he was pulling anyone's leg at the time. But with the TV Movie not going anywhere, it's easy for everyone involved with the show to gloss over this detail today.

Although, if McGann continues to appear in the show, the half-human line might one day be addressed in an official capacity. It's the ultimate "inside baseball" reference that's ripe for the taking.
