4. Speculate On Costume
The new Doctor's costume is always a big deal. Remember when Jodie Whittaker was revealed at Wimbledon in a non-descript grey coat and a hoodie? Some fans genuinely thought that would be her costume. With that in mind, it'll be exciting to see Ncuti Gatwa travel time and space in his Afro-futurist outfit from the BAFTAs.
The actor's sense of style has often been a contributing factor to the role of the Doctor, especially since 2005. Eccleston wanted the stripped-down leather jacket, Capaldi's Glasgow sensibilities influenced his Doctor's Crombie coat and boots. Already photos of Ncuti in all manner of outfits are circulating on social media in an attempt to second guess the 14th Doctor's costume. Given the previous Doctors' input into their costumes, it's likely a worthwhile exercise.
Such creative input is a far cry from John Nathan-Turner forcing Colin Baker into a multi-coloured patchwork coat or Sylvester McCoy into a question mark pullover.
