10 Things Futurama Wants You To Forget

2. The Saddest Ending Isn't That Sad

Futurama had the incredible skill of balancing the hilarious and wacky adventures of Fry and the Planet Express crew, with genuinely moving, emotional moments: Fry's discovery about his nephew, seeing his mother again in a dream, and Professor Farnsworth reuniting with his parents to name just a few.

Of course, one of the most heartbreaking moments throughout the entire series was Seymour, pictured waiting outside Panucci's Pizza every day for Fry after he was frozen, until he ultimately passed away. It is a real tear jerker, and one of the finest moments the series has to offer.

However, and this is the problem with time travelling episodes, technically since 'Bender's Big Score', the moment never happened. When Fry sent himself back in time to avoid being killed, he created a timeline where he was able to live his life from the year 2000 instead of being frozen.

The episode shows Fry returning home to his family, and hanging out with his pal, Seymour. While it is very wholesome and lovely, it robs the show of one of its most iconic moments. Since the dog was never left wondering where Fry went, he was never abandoned, waiting in the cold for so many years.
