9. We Need A Starship

Now that isn't saying it has to be the USS Enterprise but we do need to be on some kind of Star Trek here. Let's get ourselves a new and interesting ship that can take us on new adventures into the unknown of the universe.

Keep it original please Mr Orci €“ keep away from the Excelsior, the Titan or anything we're familiar with. It might even be best to avoid the Enterprise, and by that we mean A, B, C, D, E or J. Orci needs to keep it fresh and this needs to be a new, sexy piece of Starfleet tech that we can get truly excited about and fall in love with. Keep the basic design principles there and keep it recognisable but just do it...well...differently.

Come to think of it, does it need to be a Federation starship? Could this be the first show to move away from Starfleet and view the galaxy from the point of view Romulans, Breen or maybe Star Trek: Klingon could be more than a reference to a 1990's PC game (pop culture reference). Whichever route Orci thinks about heading down it's still got to be screaming through the galaxy at warp speed €“ leave stationary orbits to Deep Space Nine.
