The Doctor loses his memories of his past incarnations. Only by touring through his previous lives can he bring them back and figure out how to defeat the monster... This story has been done twice before, though, in the audio drama The Eight Doctors and the comic made for the Tenth Doctor entitled The Forgotten. The key similarity between these is that they aren't a regular episode or a special on TV. Nonetheless, these two stories were absolutely excellent and allowed all of the Doctors a part in a story without stealing the thunder of the incumbent one. To circumvent the issues present in making a multi-Doctor story, the flashbacks could be animated or done with the Doctor explaining the situation with flashes of the past recurring throughout his story. This could serve as massive fan-pleasing material. The interactions between different incarnations of the Doctor are, without exception, some of the more riveting moments in the show's history. The narrating Doctor would be able to drop lines of approval or otherwise about the conduct of his past incarnations. Additionally, the movie could be an effective gateway into the show, showcasing all of the previous incarnations of the Doctor all at once. It would be a fantastic move on the BBC's behalf and interest in the product would skyrocket the series into the stratosphere.
