1. Without Any Warning, Everything Now Revolves Around Doctor Who
Without question, the biggest thing that will happen when dating a Whovian is that the non-fan will discover that everything in their lives revolves around the programme. But the non-fan never agreed to that! Why, it's as if there are really three people in the relationship. Yes, it can be tough sharing the person you love with a TV series. On the other hand, there are a number of blessings that should also be counted. For a start, this fandom doesn't involve play flighting with pretend laser swords and then uploading videos of the "duels" to YouTube. And at least it's always easy to think of something to buy the fan for a birthday or Christmas. Simply take a look at those jam-packed shelves and see which DVDs or books or audios are still needed. BBC Worldwide and Big Finish helpfully release a zillion new titles each year just so there's something left to buy. Vacations are easy to organise, too. Just buy the fan tickets to a sci-fi convention where a Doctor Who star will be appearing. Job done. Loving this programme even makes planning a wedding easy, assuming the wedding's still on. Most bakers can knock out a TARDIS-shaped wedding cake and the bride can wear one of a number of TARDIS-themed dresses. The groom simply needs to turn up as the Eighth Doctor in his first costume and he's sorted. Face it, things could have been so much worse.
