7. A New Team

Torchwood has been defending planet Earth since 2006 and for the show's first two years in operation viewers went along on the ride - and oh, what a ride it was - with a diverse but dynamic team of alien-busting heroes. Working for Torchwood is hardly the safest job in the world but did the writers really have to take it this far? The fate of Suzie Costello alone was enough to vouch for the fact that members rarely get their happily ever after and for many fans the death of Ianto Jones in Series 3 was just one step too far. Jack and Gwen are the only surviving members of the show's original team (and Jack doesn't even count since he can't even die anyway) so if/when a fifth series gets the green light, they're going to need an extra pair of hands or two.
