10 Things That Need To Happen If Torchwood Comes Back

3. Back to Basics

To summarise the last few points, what a new series of Torchwood would really have to do in order to gain - and in some cases regain - the respect of its audience would involve it ripping up its current glorified rulebook and going back to the very basics it established at its inception. That would mean it would have to lose its over dramatic plots, far reaching settings, unbelievable characters and generally just forget that it ever tried to take over the world at all. That's never what Torchwood was about. They're not trying to conquer the world, they're trying to save it, albeit in their own unique way. Torchwood was at its very best when it focused on a group of unlikely heroes - each with their own flaws, insecurities but irreplaceable talents and qualities - who were brought together to protect South Wales and its surrounding area from Weevils. The winning format wasn't broken so why did they try to fix it? They ultimately shot themselves in the foot but it's not too late for them to repent their sins.
