10 Things To Expect From Broadchurch Series 3

4. Joe's Revenge

Cowardly Joe spent Series 2 scrabbling to save his neck and departed it in exile, but will he stay out of sight? He didn't look best pleased when Ellie told him he'd never see his kids again, and though he was sent packing he's shown he isn't a man willing to lie down, even in the wake of his own horrific actions. Chibnall may be looking to develop Joe into an even nastier creation, his thwarted plans driving him to out-and-out psychosis. However, the character is probably more suited to skulking in the shadows. Even in a place where no-one knows him he still has demons. A vengeful Broadchurchian may track him down, or a new friend accidentally discover his true identity. Joe has ample potential to shuffle off his mortal coil or become a thorn in the side of the community he helped rupture. Either way, he stays in the centre of the action just when everyone thought he was gone for good.
