10 Things We Learned From The Star Trek Voyager Cast Reunion

7. Roxanne Dawson Had The SECOND Worst Make Up Experience

Cast in the role of B'Elanna Torres, Roxanne Dawson found herself in the role of Chief Engineer on the ship. While she would not have to endure as many filming hours as Mulgrew, Ryan or Picardo, she was still required for the majority of episodes - and she would have to arrive a little earlier than almost everyone else.

The Klingon ridges that sat on her forehead took a total of two and half hours to apply, meaning that before anything else could be organised for her in terms of costuming, these would have to be put on every day that filming was due to start.

To be clear: Dawson does not miss the make up one bit. She would also have to endure forty five minutes of make up removal each evening as well, meaning that there was still a buffer of time once filming finished before she would be able to go home.

Perhaps then it is not surprising that Dawson moved into directing, rather than acting. While remaining one of the stars on Star Trek Voyager, she also became quite a prolific actor. She directed two episodes of Voyager and a further ten episodes of Enterprise.

She also appeared, off-screen, in one episode of Enterprise. In Dead Stop, she provides the voice of the deadly space station that Enterprise stops at to refuel. A cheeky nod, with one series attempting to destroy another? Or just sibling rivalry?
