10 Things We Want From Netflix's Transformers: War For Cybertron
7. Before The War
"You flare, you flicker, you fade. And in the end, all your tomorrows become yesterdays.
Almost every Transformers continuity has started already in the famous four million year war between the Autobots and Decepticons, but both of the recent IDW continuities have shown that what led up to the war can often be more fascinating than the battles themselves.
While there's plenty of scope for a Transformers show set before the war, the title War For Cybertron means that this likely isn't that show. However, that's not to say that we can't get glimpses of what happened before the war through well-crafted dialogue and flashbacks.
Through these we should get an understanding of Cybertron before it fell to war. We should see the discontent that led to the rise of the Decepticons. We should find bots we know during those moments that defined the frontlines of battle in the coming war, seeing them drawn to one of the factions for reasons that may not be as simple as you'd think.
Families will be torn apart and society rendered by war, and that is all the more affecting when we can see the difference. By showing us these things, the show can only make itself stronger.
