10 Things We Want To See On The X-Files: Albuquerque

7. Bad Blood II

X-Files Comic
Fox

Vampires on The X-Files really only work when they're funny. Fans learned that the hard way.

Season two's "3" is one of the more divisive episodes of the early seasons. For one, Scully is missing, with Gillian Anderson absent due to her pregnancy at the time. In terms of the story line, this is the point where Scully is abducted, initially by Duane Barry, ostensibly by aliens, with it later revealed that government doctors were in on it all along.

Yet Mulder takes the time to hook up with a hot vampire groupie/wannabe, played by series star David Duchovny's then-girlfriend Perry Reeves. The decision to include this dalliance on the show went over with fans like a lead balloon. As for the episode's titular three, the vampire trio were pretty run of the mill. You'd be hard pressed to really remember much about them, frankly, outside of Frank Military as John, who becomes "The Son" in the unholy trinity.

Season five's "Bad Blood" fared better. A guest spot by Luke Wilson, and a very campy, comedic undertone (picture a vampire who needs to use Halloween costume fangs to bite his victims) made this one of the more palatable comedic episodes in series history. More importantly, it's revealed at the end of the episode that an entire town full of vampires has pulled up stakes (get it?) and headed for greener pastures.

Open ending. A new team of X-Files agents. This one is pretty much gift wrapped for The X-Files: Albuquerque.
