10 Things We Want To See On The X-Files: Albuquerque
6. The Lost Tales of Reggie
The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat introduced us to Reggie, the third X-Files agent that Mulder and Scully have forgotten, due to the Mandela effect (or Dr. They, perhaps).
Keen-eyed X-Philes will recall that there actually was a Reggie early in Fox Mulder's career: Reggie Perdue. That character pre-dated The X-Files, and was actually killed off on-screen in the show's first season, in the episode Young at Heart.
However, in season eleven's look at the Mandela effect, a phenomenon that essentially boils down to a shared false memory, the show introduces us to Reggie Murgatroyed — who was right there from the start, when Scully joined Mulder on The X-Files. Except nobody remembers him.
The episode splices footage of Reggie (Brian Huskey) into old episode clips, even taking advantage of one of Reggie Purdue's off-screen appearances. It's enough to make you think: what would a third perspective on the original series have been like?
The animated spin-off would be a great time to open up that can of worms, frankly. Reggie was an interesting enough character and could actually serve as a bridge to the show's past, without the need to rope in David Duchovny or Gillian Anderson, who aren't likely to appear anyway.
